Acer Liquid gets quick revamp with new Android

Acer as part of its smartphone updates today updated its flagship model to take advantage of new software. The Liquid e replaces the A1 by moving to Android 2.1 and gets all the new software features, including the new web browser and dynamic wallpapers like those found on the Nexus One. It also gets a slight design tweak with a red frame in place of white.

The handset despite its software refresh is similar in hardware, albeit still high-end. It uses a somewhat downclocked 768MHz Snapdragon processor, a 5-megapixel camera with autofocusing, a 3.5-inch 800x480 display, and 256MB of RAM. 7.2Mbps 3G, GPS and Wi-Fi accordingly make the transition over to the Liquid e.

Launch info for the revamp isn't available, though the mild upgrades aren't likely to result in a significant delay.
