VNC Viewer released in App Store
Readdle has added Google Doc and Dropbox support to the latest release of its ReaddleDocs app, while RealVNC has launched a new app for remotely controlling computers.
The latest version of ReaddleDocs, an iPhone application for storing and managing files, has been released in the App Store. With the software users can move files to the handheld from any computer via a wireless connection or an online storage service. The app includes support for WebDAV allowing it to connect to most storages services such as MobileMe, Box.Net, and Filesanywhere. Version 2.1 adds support for Google Docs allowing users to move documents between their online Google account and their handheld device as well as for moving files to and from a Dropbox account.
RealVNC releases iPhone app for remotely controlling a computer
RealVNC has announced the launch of its new iPhone and iPod application for remotely controlling a computer. VNC Viewer makes use of standard, touch, tap and drag gestures for controlling the computer, in addition to on-screen buttons for other functions. Text can be entered using the devices default, while additional non-character keys such as the cursor keys, Ctrl, Alt and Delete, have special designated buttons.
The software is available for $10 and can connect to any Mac, Windows, or Linux computer that is running the free desktop application.
