PhotoPresenter gains new interface
Boinx has released two significant software updates, most notably PhotoPresenter 4. The utility creates animated slideshows, which can incorporate music and video. Version 4 has been given an improved interface, with touches such as animated previews of selected themes. The number of themes has been expanded to 37, and slideshows can now be viewed in a standalone player, and/or given custom watermarks.
Some other changes include integration with Photo Booth and Flickr. The latter is supported as a part of the software's new album sync, which primarily detects changes in Aperture and iPhoto Smart Albums. With Flickr, the app updates collections based on Groups and Sets.
FotoMagico has meanwhile been updated to v3.1. The program is essentially a "storytelling" version of PhotoPresenter, intended to provide more control over the final output. The v3.1 update allows for chapter creation, and scrubbing, making it possible to see transitions and animations in slow motion.
Matching the desktop FotoMagico is an update of the iPhone app, which enables chapter and playback controls. FotoMagico 3.1 requires Mac OS X 10.5, and costs $29 for a Home version or $149 for Pro, which includes PhotoPresenter. The FotoMagico iPhone app costs $20. Upgrading from any edition of FotoMagico 2.x to 3.1 Pro costs $89. A solo version of PhotoPresenter is $29 in a single-user license.
