Apple TV 3.0.2 adds support for Aperture 3 sharing

updated 09:10 am EST, Thu February 11, 2010

May also fix HDMI output problem

Apple is now distributing a minor firmware update for the Apple TV, v3.0.2. The release is believed to be connected to Aperture 3, which debuted on Tuesday and altered how Aperture photos are shared over a local network. The update also corrects some glitches, namely those triggered when switching the HDMI output cable.

The user interface has meanwhile been slightly modified, making it easier to read. The firmware is available only through the Update Software option on an Apple TV. It is uncertain when Apple may next invigorate the Apple TV, but the set-top could receive a boost if $1 TV shows become available.

Anyone know if this update fixes the issue of the AppleTV hanging while utilizing a shared library and an iPodTouch remote? That's been the bane of my hardware for the last few months.
