Motorola WiMAX dock gives extra-wide range

Moto USBw 200 gets special long-range dock

Motorola today launched a unique dock for its USBw 200 WiMAX modem to significantly improve its role when it's at home. Plugging it into the USB-based cradle gives it much stronger reception and compares closer to a fixed-in-place modem. The simple change gives the option of using the modem as a home connection in rooms that would normally be off-limits while still having the option of using the modem by itself later.

The modem itself is currently said to be Windows-only but will automatically install itself without needing separate drivers. While the USBw 200 is already available, those wanting the dock will have to wait until the spring. It will only be available through carriers but is likely to be an option at Clear, Sprint, or both.
