Acer Android, WM phones spotted ahead of release

The second smartphone from Acer to run on the Android operating system has been spotted ahead of an official launch. Passing its Bluetooth SIG testing, the Acer E110 should ship with Android 2.0 and support UMTS/HSDPA networks in either the 900/2100MHz or 850/1900MHz bands. There is also said to be assisted GPS functionality, a Bluetooth module, a touchscreen display of unknown resolution, and four touch-sensitive keys below it.

The first Acer Android phone, the Liquid A1 may arrive at AT&T sometime soon, though no release window has been confirmed.

Also new from Acer is the P300 handset, which run an unknown version of Windows Mobile. It otherwise has HSDPA/HSUPA network support, Bluetooth 2.0, a USB 2.0 connection and a Wi-Fi radio.

Both new handsets are made by Chi Mei Communication Systems, which is part of Foxconn. Release dates and prices for the handsets remain unknown at this time. [via UnwiredView]
