Also adds social networking extensions
NAVIGON has released MobileNavigator 1.5.0, described as a "significant" update to the company's turn-by-turn app for the iPhone. The principal upgrade is the addition of MyRoutes, which creates custom path choices for a destination. Up to three options are presented, with accompanying distance and ETA information. The routes are calculated based on driving habits, as well as day and time.
The software has also been given support for a feature called Panorama View 3D, which will be added later via in-app purchase. The component displays in-map 3D views based on NASA data, in some cases making it easier to figure out orientation.
The last addition comes in the form of social networking extensions. By tapping appropriate icons, users can send position, destination and ETA information to either Facebook or Twitter. Twitter posts are automatically capped at 140 characters.
The North American version of MobileNavigator normally costs $90. Between February 5th and the 15th the app will cost $70, with the Traffic Live add-on priced at $20 rather than $25. Panorama View 3D will cost $10, though no date has been set for its launch.
