Bunkspeed SHOT to integrate iray rendering technology

updated 10:50 pm EST, Mon February 8, 2010

System utilizes CPU and GPU resources

Bunkspeed has announced that its upcoming SHOT software will integrate Iray rendering technology developed by Mental Images. The new system will allow the software to process renders using a combination of CPU and GPU resources, including NVIDIA's CUDA-equipped graphics cards. Offloading the rendering tasks to various components is said to significantly reduce processing times.

The update, which will replace the company's HyperShot software, is geared for photographers, engineers, architects, or other 3D designers. The simplified interface includes a small number of intuitive settings, allowing users to quickly produce renderings with correct global illumination.

Bunkspeed SHOT is currently in beta, with availability expected in the second quarter of this year. Pricing information has yet to be announced. [via Architosh]
