Company asks for ways to improve developer program
Apple is reportedly distributing a survey to iPhone developers, with a variety of questions covering the App Store program. Respondents are asked to rate their level of satisfaction in different areas such as enrollment, feedback, app submission, the review process, and the length of time it takes to get updates onto the App Store.
Aside from the multiple-choice questions, the survey also offers a text box for developers to provide a response to the question "What one thing could Apple do to make the iPhone Developer Program better?"
Developers have voiced a wide range of criticisms aimed at the App Store policies and review process. Many have complained of inconsistent or seemingly irrational interpretation of the iPhone development guidelines. The company reportedly left many submissions waiting for several months, without approval or rejection, although the typical experience now appears to be faster. [via TechCrunch]

Categories anyone?
The #1 issue it seems that the App Store has is allowing developers to determine what category their app belongs to, and then just ignore it, even if it is utterly wrong. This screws consumers the most. It's just incredibly sad that games such as "Hotel Tycoon" or "Baseball Superstars 2010" are considered RPGs, and they are at the top of the game lists.
Is there honestly nobody who patrols this? It reminds me of sellers listing their crappy accessories in the same category as popular, large-scale items on eBay to get noticed. It's just flat-out dishonest.
