Exec claims to be 'very interested'
The CEO of Vodafone, Vittorio Colao, says he is "very interested" in having the iPad for his company's networks. "I have not, personally, touched one but I really look forward to it," he explains. "I believe it is going to be another important piece of the -- mobile -- data experience. I think anything that improves the customer experience with mobile data is welcome and as such I would be very interested in having it."
The 3G version of the tablet should be ready in April, but the only carrier to formally announce any iPad plans has been AT&T in the United States. Some form of Vodafone iPad may be virtually guaranteed, however, as the carrier is spread across many different countries, including much of Europe. It has also been selling the iPhone for some time, most recently launching in the UK.
