AppFund promises to back iPad developers

updated 03:10 pm EST, Thu February 4, 2010

May also back other tablets

A new capital investment firm, AppFund, has been launched to support iPad development. The company is based in New York City, and is the work of Kevin Wendle and Daniel Klaus, the former of which may be best known for co-founding CNET and E! Online. Both are promising money and expertise for creating iPad apps; financial contributions should range from $5,000 to $500,000, depending on the complexity of the software and its profit potential.

The company is currently taking written e-mail submissions for projects, with the aim of launching iPad apps by summer. There are no regional restrictions on who can apply. AppFund also elaborates that it will fund "other tablet based applications," but without mentioning specific pieces of hardware. The company could be backing everything from the Amazon Kindle through to the JooJoo.

    It's news like this...

That lead me to believe the iPad will be a tremendous success. It might be a little slow out of the gate, but 12 months from now that apps people are creating will make the iPad scream!

These people aren't dumb...they have a lot of ways to invest their money. This is a great sign and boon to would be developers.

    CHARGE!
