Google to add Store Views to maps?

updated 05:50 pm EST, Thu February 4, 2010

Google Street View to get in-building looks

A New York City retailer today hinted that Google may be adding views from inside buildings to its Street View service. Staffers from the Manhattan store Oh Nuts say Google visited its shop to take photos for a service known as Google Store Views. It would not only display entire main interior but individual products as well.

The company officially declines to comment to Search Engine Land on whether Store Views will become a real service but admits it's "always experimenting with new features" for Google Maps.

It's implied that some locations in Google Street View will have an added level of zoom that will permit viewing inside stores and getting an impression of the goods they offer without having to visit in person. Such an addition would give new residents and tourists an opportunity to "explore" unfamiliar shops to make sure they have the right goods.

    And Next Shots In Our...

Homes, showing the Burglars what we have as stuff they want.

And Next, Jewelry Stores so they can see what stuff they have and a good escape route.

And Next, The Hospitals where you can see what services they provide.

And Next, The Colon exam someone is having at the Hospital.

And Next, The inside of the Colon of the person is having.

And Next, Inside the School where our kids go and play. A Pedophile Dream.

And Next, a zoom in on a Right to Privacy Letter we all continue to get, and now written in Crayon.

And Next, Google looses the biggest class action lawsuit in the history of mankind for the Right to Privacy!

And Next, We all go back to just looking at buildings from the OUTSIDE!!! As this was the plan in the beginning.

    Do not want

I really don't like this idea. How far is too far? And why is it acceptable to be too lazy to enter a store we might be interested in?

    Lame.

I'm sorry but this is lame. How about just a regular floor map as some stores post on their websites, but for every store possible, updated by the stores themselves, so criminals cannot plan a robbery without at least being seen by a store employee or security guard etc.

    So brilliant it's criminal!

This is a great idea to allow criminals to case a store. No longer will thieves have to covertly map out their prey. Just go to google maps to see what it is they're targeting!

    Stores change...

At least the good ones do. This will just let you know how stale those potato chips really are.
