Leather Cover guard front and back of iPad

iLuv, Scosche and Tumbuk2 have introduced a variety of accessories for Apple’s iPad, ranging from sleeves and cases to protective film. iLuv has unveiled six new case designs including a flip-open Leather Cover available in black or pink, as well as a soft Casual Fabric Case which comes in three different colors and features a strap that goes around the outside. For an almost transparent look, the company is offering the Ultra Thin clear case that protects the back and sides of the iPad and comes with a screen film.

Continuing down the line is the Ultra Thin Case with Tatz Graphics that comes in pink, red, or black, and offers a unique picture on the back. The company is also offering the Flexi-Clear Case with Dot Wave Pattern and the Silicone Case. Both models are designed to guard the back and sides of the iPad, with color choices including clear, black, red or pink for either the Flexi-Clear or Silicone Case. The Silicone Case is available in blue, green, and orange colors.

Three different clear films for the touchscreen have been announced, consisting of a clear screen guard, a glare-free film, and a mirror-type protective guard.

The last addition is a water-resistant neoprene sleeve featuring two front-cover pockets and a secure lip to help keep the iPad in place. All products are said to be available starting February of this year and range in price from $25 to $40 for the cases, $15 to $20 for the protective films, and $20 for the neoprene sleeve.

Cases from Scosche and Timbuk2 include the kickBACK and Quilted Laptop Sleeve. Previously released for the iPhone and iPod touch, the kickBACK is a hard polycarbonate case that guards the mobile device from bumps and scratches, while doubling as a kickstand that enables both vertical and horizontal viewing. Additional features include built-in molded grips on the back of the case, for added support when handling, and a low-angle setting to assist typing during viewing mode.

Keeping in line with iPad protective cases, Timbuk2 has released a new video showing which products fit the new iPad. According to the company, both the small Quilted Laptop Sleeve and Envelope Sleeve will comfortably fit the iPad. Aside from the sleeves, all of Timbuk2’s backpacks and new messenger bags are also said to hold the iPad. The backpacks offer swing-around notebook access pockets designed to contain the iPad , while the messenger bag features a slash pocket that will hold the device.

The kickBACK is said to be available sometime this spring. The packages each ship with a screen protector and cleaning cloth. All of the Timbuk2 bags and sleeves are currently available for ordering and can be found on the company’s website.

    hmmm

interesting. the kickstand will probably be a hit. the bags perhaps, perhaps not. same with the cases.

the one that I think could use a different twist is the case with the artwork. many folks don't stay on one track for that long. pity there's no way to change out the art easily. something like the gelaskin idea with a clear protective case over it. if someone did that they might have a bigger hit on their hands. especially if they could get some tie-ins going. imagine all those Team Edward, Team Jacob kids (that you know are going to want an ipad if only for the video stuff). Or the Harry Potter nuts. the Comic book fans could pop in Iron Man this month, the Avengers next months and so on.

I still think I like the bag that Tom Bihn is doing. But I would be in the market for some kind of hard case so I'm excited to see a nice selection coming up. Hopefully these people will all try to get their wares in the Apple stores. and by launch or very shortly after
