Sling Player Mobile 2.0 coming to Windows Mobile

Interface redesigned for finger navigation

Sling Media has introduced an update to its Sling Player Mobile utility for smartphones running Windows Mobile. Version 2.0 brings a revamped interface, with design elements that are geared for navigation with fingers rather than a stylus. While the iPhone app is limited to streaming content over Wi-Fi, the Windows Mobile version enables users to view television across either Wi-Fi or 3G connections.

The utility allows users to view streaming video sent from a Slingbox Solo, Pro-HD, or Pro. Content choices include any of the live channels, or even DVR content that has been previously recorded. Users can also schedule DVR recordings for the future.

Sling Player Mobile requires a Slingbox and a touchscreen-equipped smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.0 or higher. New customers can purchase the app for $30, while upgrades from v1.6 are available for free. [via jkOnTheRun]
