LogMeIn updates Pro2 beta with PowerPC support

updated 10:25 am EST, Mon January 25, 2010

Also expands printer support to Windows

LogMeIn has launched an important update to Pro2 for Mac, the company's high-level remote networking service. Users can access Mac or Windows PCs, for the purposes of remote printing, transferring files or sharing a desktop. The update primarily brings PowerPC compatibility, allowing older Macs to connect.

Another significant change is support for printers shared through Windows PCs. Miscellaneous tweaks include bugfixes, and a "bunch of other stuff that just makes it better," according to LogMeIn. Pro2 for Mac remains in beta, and public applications for testing are still being accepted. The service will be free until an official launch.
