Jobs quoted as excited for new device
Fueling expectations some more, a new tip today hints that even Apple chief Steve Jobs has high expectations for the tablet rumored to be launching at Wednesday's special event. Several eyewitnesses, allegedly including Apple executives and Jobs' friends, say they've heard Jobs state that the project is the "most important thing I've ever done." They also assert that Jobs is personally excited about the results.
Despite the apparent confidence in the overhead statements, the TechCrunch sources don't have details about the end product itself. Many presume it will carry a 10-inch touchscreen and 3G, but Jobs' anticipation may stem from its potential impact on reading and video, as the relatively large screen and interface have reportedly been used to court publishers, TV studios and others in a way not seen before.
Jobs has long been rumored as having devoted full attention to the tablet, especially since his return from medical leave in June. Most believe he last gave a similar level of care during the development of the iPhone.
