Tablet design to resemble original iPhone?

August mockup closest to real deal
The impending Apple tablet will most closely resemble the original iPhone in design, say sources claiming to be familiar with the hardware. The most obvious connection is alleged to be an aluminum shell, different mainly in size, but also in being thinner proportionately. All of the standard iPhone buttons should likewise be present, including the Home button; a black border is said to separate the touchscreen from the shell.
Input/output support is described as on par with the iPhone 3GS, including a microphone, speaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, 30-pin dock connector and a receiver for 3G broadband. The display is said to measure 10 inches, rather than 7 or 11 as reported in some quarters. Cosmetically the tablet is thought to most closely resemble a mockup created in August, which only really excludes a handful of iPhone design elements according to sources.
Prototypes are allegedly circulating for a tablet compatible with CDMA networks, such as Sprint or Verizon's. Even if so, however, it is not known whether the technology will make it into a shipping tablet. 3G typically refers to HSPA, as used by carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile.

Getting wet?
If this thing gets wet, can I dry it on a radiator...? No wait, you can only do that with those funny old things called er... books? How does it respond to beach sand? Books-2 Slate-0
