Sesamouse imitates real multi-touch gestures

Calf Trail Software has announced Sesamouse, a new utility designed to extend the gesture capabilities of the Magic Mouse. The software works by imitating multi-touch trackpad gestures, enabling control over the rotation and zoom functions in gesture-capable apps. The utility also adds vertical swipe recognition, while supplying more advanced multi-touch programs with information regarding the positioning of each finger on the mouse surface.

Sesamouse requires Mac OS X 10.6, although the software utilizes several undocumented system features which may not be supported by future Mac updates. Because of the potential compatibility issues, the application is currently available as a free download.

Calf Trail will also accept donations for the utility, with all proceeds said to be contributed directly to helping rebuild small businesses in Haiti.

Can anyone comment on the differences between Sesamouse and MagicPrefs?

    Thanks.
