2010 version adds improved searching, auto-updates

Acclivity has released an update to its small-business accounting software, AccountEdge 2010. The software handles purchasing, payrolls, inventory management, banking, business contacts and sales tracking. It features over 100 business templates, all of which can be edited to match specific needs of various businesses. It can import and export files and work out budgets spanning several years. The utility also allows users to print checks and make electronic payments.

New in version 2010 is web store integration, called EnStore. AccountEdge syncs products, images and pricing, while pulling down new orders, customers, payments and taxes. The EnStore service provides free setup and hosting, along with unlimited bandwidth and storage. The service is expected to come online in February -- it is currently progressing through a beta stage.

The software update improves item tracking details and adds a profit analysis tool. New options are designed to improve searches, while an auto-update feature provides notifications for future software updates. Other features include payroll updates and sales tax reports with grand totals across all tax codes.

AccountEdge 2010 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, including Snow Leopard. Both the individual-license version and the network edition each cost $300.
