PDF2Office Pro 5.0 adds workbook, new Office formats

updated 12:45 pm EST, Fri January 15, 2010

Software now supports Snow Leopard

Recosoft has updated its Mac-based PDF conversion tool for Microsoft Office, PDF2Office Professional. The software converts PDF documents into formats such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and HTML. It automatically recreates the original layout of a document, detecting styles, forming paragraphs and regrouping graphics. It can also extract images, and supports tables, headers and footers, column formatting and endnotes and footnotes.

Version 5.0 adds full Snow Leopard support, and native Excel workbook formats; workbook construction formats get fine-tuning options in spreadsheet formation. The update also adds a new typeface library, which tracks and recalls font substitutions. Office 2007/2008 formats for Word, Excel and PowerPoint are now natively supported.

PDF2Office Professional 5.0 requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or higher. It costs $130 under a standard license, or $90 under an educational license.
