New keyword warnings, lingo translator
SpectorSoft has released a major upgrade to its computer monitoring and surveillance software, Spector Pro Mac 2010. The latest version features three new activity recorders that can be used to capture any opened applications, file transfers or online searches. Additional blocking capabilities are also included, as well as new keyword alerts that warn parents of any inappropriate words that have been entered. When a harmful word has been detected, users receive an e-mail warning that displays where, when and how the keyword is logged.
The company has also released “A Parents Guide to Internet Lingo”, a new informational guide with thousands of lingo definitions. The lingo package integrates with the app and allows users to simply roll the mouse over top of a word within the program in order to get the definition. With the new blocking features parents can prevent specific users from chatting with any individual on the computer, or accessing any website.
Spector Pro Mac 2010 works with Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and is available from the SpectorSoft website for $100.
