Magic Launch re-enables creator codes
Michel Fortin has introduced Magic Launch, a new tool for customizing how files are opened on the Mac. The app allows users to re-enable creator codes, making it possible to continuously launch the same original application when re-opening specified files. Aside from the creation codes, users can create rules that define the criteria for opening up a file in a specific application. By doing this user’s can open a file in the project folder and have it launch an application, then open the same file in a different area which will launch a completely different program.
Magic Launch offers a preference panel which is used to active creator codes or rules, and includes drag-and-drop functionality for moving a rule to the desktop and saving it as a file. The app supports Mac OS X 10.6 or higher, and is currently priced at $15 for a single user license.
