D-Link preps CES lineup with Pebble, Rush, Touch

updated 04:20 pm EST, Mon January 4, 2010

Booth to also showcase Boxee Box

Electronics maker D-Link has unveiled its CES lineup, which should include several products. Foremost is the previously-announced Boxee Box, which merges Boxee's media browsing interface with network, HDMI and audio connections. Further details will only be announced at the expo, which begins Thursday, but the set-top is expected to ship in the spring for approximately $200.

The company is also planning to show off the Pebble, a media streamer which like the Box supports 802.11n Wi-Fi. Few other details have been mentioned, but it is said to handle content from sources such as computers, memory cards, USB sticks, network storage and the Internet.

New networking peripherals will include the Rush, classified as an Xtreme N 600 Duo HD MediaBridge. In practical terms the device boosts the signal of existing Wi-Fi 802.11a, b, g or n routers, theoretically providing better coverage and speeds up to 600Mbps. The Touch is a complete router, supporting dual-band connections and native speeds up to 450Mbps. Distinguishing the unit is a three-inch touchscreen, which allows setup and configuration without having to turn to a computer.

Prices and release dates for the Pebble, Rush and Touch have yet to be revealed.
