FCP Versioner backs up to XML, tracks changes

updated 03:25 pm EST, Mon December 28, 2009

Autosaves files, manages disk space

Digital Rebellion has launched FCP Versioner, used to backup Final Cut Pro projects in XML format. Changelogs are produced to show modifications from one revision to the next. The software also has several options for managing disk space, including ones for purging older backups.

Backups are created after any manual save, allowing return to different versions of a project. The program also offers an autosave feature, which saves at user-set intervals.

FCP Versioner requires Mac OS X 10.5 and Final Cut Pro 6.0.2. Autosaving demands at least Pro 7.0. The software normally costs $60, but is available with volume and student discounts.
