Thoughts due in January 2010
Two new notetaking programs have been announced. The first, Spark, handles both tasks and notes, grouping the former into projects, also syncing them with iCal. The software can be launched with a single hotkey, and can also sit in the Menu Bar in order to avoid cluttering the Dock. Spark is a free download for Snow Leopard-based Macs.
Developer Green & Slimy has begun taking pre-orders for Thoughts, set to be released in January. Users can group notes into pages, books and shelves, and link pages with each other, or else to specific files and websites. When exporting users can save in formats such as Word, PDF or OpenOffice.
A Thoughts pre-order bundle costs approximately $35, and includes two free applications: Yum, a recipe manager, and Family, a genealogy tool. The offer should be available until mid-January. Thoughts requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

Spark app name already taken
Spark is already the name of an application. It is an XMPP chat client developed by Jive and distributed via igniterealtime.org. Can we say lawsuit.
