Title handles booking, other functions
Best Western has released its first iPhone app, Best Western to Go. The software mainly lets users locate one of the company's 4,000-plus hotels, and then make reservations. Users can also create itineraries, inserting addresses for various points of interest such as restaurants. Current positioning is displayed via a built-in map.
Points can be saved and categorized for later reference, and detailed with custom photos and descriptions. Events during a trip can be shared with others directly, or else through Facebook or e-mail. Best Western to Go is a free download from the App Store; it is not listed as compatible with the iPod touch. More apps from the hotel chain are expected in 2010.
