Snow Leopard support a final addition
Econ Technologies has made three of its existing programs freeware, citing a desire to concentrate on sync and backup software in the future. Free offerings begin with Portraits & Prints, which relies on a template dynamic to handle photo printing. Images are added to a catalog, where they can then be tweaked and attached to a template before print or export.
DayChaser is a scheduling utility supporting multiple calendars. During editing, users can assign separate tasks, notes and events. ImageCaster lastly manages webcam input, providing scheduling, overlay effects, and recording and upload options. Webpages can be generated to showcase feeds.
As a final touch, Econ has updated all three apps to support Snow Leopard. The collection can be downloaded from the Econ website.

Awesome, but ...
Econ has always been a good company putting out high-quality applications, so I'm delighted that they've made these freeware. But ... does this mean they will no longer be updated or maintained?
VisualHub and AppleWorks are two examples of programs that were "abandoned" some time ago yet continue to work in Snow Leopard, so perhaps we'll get a few years out of these programs as well. I hope, however, that they will be at least minimally maintained, as P&P and DayChaser both have solid followings.
