Smasher 1.8 update provides Snow Leopard support

updated 11:30 pm EST, Tue December 22, 2009

Works with Snow Leopard, Microsoft Office

Insider Software has introduced Smasher 1.8, an update to its utility designed for eliminating corruption from font caches and temporary files. The latest version adds support for Apple’s Snow Leopard operating system, while allowing users to clear font caches and temporary files from Adobe CS2 through CS4. Additional support is offered for QuarkXPress version 6 to 8, and for both 2005 and 2008 copies of Microsoft Office.

The software provides tools for examining font outlines and properties, including suitcases. Users can also convert Mac OS X .dfonts file formats into TrueType files that can be used in earlier Mac OS versions.

Smasher 1.8 works with Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, with prices set at $50 for new users or $25 for registered users of FontAgent Pro. The update itself is free for all current Smasher users.
