Top 10 paid and free iPhone apps listed

Envio Networks, creator of the iPhone app Chorus, has released a list ranking app popularity. Chorus is a free program designed to find other iPhone apps, providing reviews from other users along with a real-time feed showing apps recently downloaded by friends. Chorus is still a relatively new app, with its release in early November of this year, although users' data has been compiled to show the the recent popularity of free and paid apps, including the top 10 apps recommended by friends.

Chorus data indicates the most popular free app during November was FunMail, a program that analyzes text messages and converts them into relevant image. AccuWeather.com, redbox and ShopSavvy followed right behind FunMail in the free category. The DJ-style MP3 mixing app TouchDJ led the paid group, with Ravensword: The Fallen King, AppButler- App Organizer, Garters & Gouls, and Trillian also making the list.

The top 10 most recommend apps among Chorus users contains titles not found in either of the other lists, starting with the first-person-shooter multiplayer game Eliminate Pro at the top of the list. Shazzam, Gowalla, Loopt and WhatsApp Messenger rounded out the top five.

For more up to date recommendations, users can download Chorus from the App Store.
