Support added for Debian-based Linux distributions
Unity Technologies has introduced an update to its Asset Server utility for version control. Version 2.0 allows users to host the server on Windows systems, extending support beyond just Mac OS X and Linux machines, while users can now utilize Debian-based Linux distributions. The update reduces the time required to check-in large changesets when used with Unity 2.6 or higher.
An upgraded version of PostgreSQL is claimed to improve performance, security and stability. The company also added new tools designed to simplify back-up and restore operations of Asset Server databases.
Asset Server 2.0 is now available directly from the company, with pricing starting at $500 per seat.
