Nintendo files for WiiRelax trademark

updated 04:25 pm EST, Mon December 21, 2009

Nintendo trademarks WiiRelax name

Nintendo has filed for a trademark on what may be the final name of the Vitality Sensor. Calling it WiiRelax, the company suggests that either the accessory or the game itself will have the new title. The vitality sensor measures a user's pulse rate, which could, when used together with a piece of software, help determine whether a uses is resting or in an agitated state.

Italian software developer Pub Company in April announced it would release a game called Wii Relax but the product website has since disappeared. A release date for the WiiRelax from the Nintendo, be it a game, piece of hardware, or otherwise, remains unknown, but is likely to come out some time in 2010. [via CVG]
