LG X120, Booklet 3G get price drops for holidays

Best Buy Mobile and RadioShack will offer sales on two netbook PCs when paired with mobile broadband service contracts, including the Nokia Booklet 3G and LG X120, respectively. The latter is LG's first netbook and exclusively offered at Radioshack and will cost just $50 until Christmas Eve when buyers also sign up for a two-year, $60 per month contract from AT&T for mobile broadband data. The Nokia Booklet 3G from Best Buy, meantime, will cost $200 on a similar plan, which represents a $400 savings.

The X120 sports a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU and 1GB of RAM, along with Windows XP Home. There is also a 160GB hard drive and a 4400mAh six-cell battery. Its 10.1-inch display has 1024x576 resolution and users can quickly check e-mail and do other simple computing tasks by using the SmartOn Linux partition that boots in seconds.

The Nokia Booklet 3G uses the same Atom processor and 1GB of RAM but most noticeably has 1280x720 resolution for its 10.1-inch display. Its hard drive is smaller, at 120GB, but it is preloaded with Windows 7. Its unconventional 16-cell battery is said to provide up to 12 hours of battery life. Its machined aluminum chassis is under 0.8 inches thick and the Booklet 3G weighs less than 2.8 pounds. [via JKontherun]
