Software brings new USB storage options
Fire Core has released an update to its Apple TV enhancement software, aTV Flash. Version 4.0.3 integrates an improved Couch Surfer Pro interface, featuring a new layout and additional navigation options, along with full support for Apple's Remote app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Users can navigate the Internet from Apple TV using the mobile device as a touchpad and keyboard.
The company has also added support for the Apple TV firmware v3.0.1, which helps improve the functionality of Sapphire and Boxee. Users can now attach an external USB drive for storing synced iTunes media.
The software allows Apple TV users to take advantage of several additional formats including DivX, Xvid, AVI, WMV, DVD files, and more. An integrated WebKit-based browser can be used to browse the web.
aTV Flash 4.0.3 is now available directly from the company for $50. The utility is available for Mac and Windows platforms.
