Free trials of 3D modeling and animation tools
E-on has announced several new software options in the Vue 8 family of 3D rendering and animation tools. The Vue 8 Personal Learning Edition (PLE) is essentially a fully functional version of the company's xStream/Infinite utilities. Users can create and complete projects, save the work, and render stills or animations without any size or length limits.
The software provides utilities for sculpting 3D terrain, creating spectral 3D atmospheres, adding terrain fractals, reposing rigged meshes, and more. xStream works directly inside of other software such as Max, Maya, Softimage, LightWave or Cinema4d.
Vue 8 PLE is for non-commercial use only, with network rendering disabled and watermarks added to renders. Files created with PLE cannot be exchanged with other users or transferred to other versions of Vue. The software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms and can be downloaded directly from the company.
The company is also offering trial versions of the Vue 8 tools for 3D artists, including Esprit, Studio or Complete. The 30-day trial editions provide the full functionality of the standard software titles, although several options are disabled. Users will be unable to save scenes, plants or objects, while rendering resolution is limited to 640x480. The material content is limited, while the terrain export, standalone rendering and network rendering are disabled.
