Acer brings Ferrari One notebook to the US

Acer now shipping Ferrari One netbook in the US

Acer on Wednesday announced it is now shipping its 11.6-inch Ferrari One notebook to US customers. Considered a crossover between netbooks and full-size notebooks, its rocessing power comes from a relatively strong 1.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor, along with up to 4GB of RAM. The 250GB, 5,400rpm hard drive is preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium.

It mirrors other Ferrari-branded Acer notebooks by carrying faux carbon fiber accents and Ferrari shields that separate it from Acer's usual line. Another unique feature is a dedicated shortcut button that will take users to Ferrari's website. Rounding out the car-related details are tire-shaped grips holding the PC in place on flat surfaces, along with a preloaded, F1-inspired wallpaper and calendar.

More traditional computer features include a full-sized keyboard, a Wi-Fi connection, a gigabit Ethernet port, a multi-touch trackpad, three USB 2.0 ports and a VGA output. There is an optical drive, an integrated webcam and a six-cell battery that is said to provide five hours of run time. Without the battery, the notebook weighs 3.31lbs.

The Acer Ferrari One is available now for $600.
