Keyboard Maestro 4.0 upgrades support, user interface

updated 04:50 pm EST, Tue December 8, 2009

Redesigned for Snow Leopard, 64-bit

Stairways Software has released a new version of Keyboard Maestro, v4.0. The software should now better support Snow Leopard, as a result of 64-bit technology and a redesigned interface. New hotkey features allow the use of Command-Tab, and triggering multiple macros by pressing, holding and/or releasing keys. Support has also been added for Growl notifications, and grouped or hierarchical items in the status menu.

The clipboard switcher has been extended to include search, image and test display, while the program switcher can now switch to an application and hide all others. With new hotkey and macro functions, users can control media playback apps such as iTunes or QuickTime.

Keyboard Maestro 4.0 works with Mac OS X 10.5 or higher and is a free upgrade, or $35 new.
