Apple to open second Bristol store on Saturday

updated 09:20 am EST, Mon December 7, 2009

Takes over former HMV store

Apple will launch a second Bristol, UK store on December 12th at 9AM, the company has announced. The shop is located within the Upper Mall at Cribbs Causeway, in a storefront formerly owned by music and video retailer HMV. HMV has relocated downstairs to a site formerly owned by its rival, Zavvi. The latter company collapsed earlier this year, suffering from poor sales.

The Apple Store will operate unusually late on launch day, staying open until 9PM. Normal Saturday hours will end at 8PM. Monday-to-Friday hours will fall between 9:30AM and 9PM, while Sunday hours will be restricted to between 11AM and 5PM. The first workshops will be holiday-themed, scheduled for December 14th and 16th.

    How about...

Come on Apple, let's have one in Edinburgh! The tramworks are away from Princes Street now, so there's no excuse!
