Edits content in Adobe Indesign, QuarkXPress

Markzware has released PageZephyr, an app that provides tools for searching and retrieving content. The program allows users to find documents and extract text from popular publishing formats including Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress. Documents can be searched using specific keywords or phrases, in any language, while individual files can be targeted by specifying size, modification date, or creation date.

A “story board” feature extracts the document text, which can then be viewed, edited, and exported as an RTF file or plain text. The company also offers a website, PageZephyr.com, where users can collaborate to share, edit and market their content. Support is offered for Adobe InDesign CS to CS4 and QuarkXPress 6 through 8, while the search range can be extended to attached volumes and networked drives.

PageZephyr requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or higher and can be downloaded as a 10-day free trial, while a version limited to search functionality is priced at $130. Customers can also purchase the full version for $300.
