New version works better on large filesystems

Dare to be Creative has launched an update to its system cleaner and optimization tool, Sponge 1.3. The software is designed to work in the background and remove unwanted content such as applications, duplicate files and disk hogs. The new version features improvements to overall performance and usability, while utilizing fewer system resources. Version 1.3 is also more stable, with fixes geared for large filesystems.

Sponge 1.3 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, including with Snow Leopard. It is now available to download for $26.

    Sponge? How about Sweeper

    Sponge looks nice.

But since OmnidiskSweeper is for free (!) nowadays, I think I'll save me those $26.

The interface is similar to WhatSize?

I've been using WhatSize for a long time to trim the fat from my drives. It's so easy to find what files are taking up space (including invisible files) and being able to delete them. Apple should have the function built into the OS.
