DealNN: Black Friday Edition

updated 03:05 pm EST, Fri November 27, 2009

iPhones, Blu-ray players, MacBooks and more

Today is the big shopping day, Black Friday, and online retailers sprung into action early this morning to bring you the best deals of the year. Places like eCost.com were slashing prices on everything from iPhones to HDTVs. Today they dropped the price on the refurbished iPhone 3G to $359.99 with $9.99 for shipping. Other items from eCost include a 32-inch Westinghouse LCD HDTV for $279.99, and a Lenovo ThinkPad for $319.

WalMart.com cut prices on Blu-ray players, HDTVs, gaming systems and more, and featured the lowest price we have ever seen on a Blu-ray player, only $78 for the Magnavox NB500MG1F. JR.com's Black Friday deals include a $59.99 Linksys Wireless-N router, and a Coby 2GB USB stick MP3 player for only $9.99. As usual Apple.com had its one day sale event, cutting $101 off of most iMac and MacBook Pro models. Newegg.com got into the spirit with a Black Friday monitor sale, with prices ranging from $69.99 to $189.99 for a wide range of LCD monitors.

beware of eCost - spend a few extra bucks at anoth

eCost has some good prices, but please be warned - they have about the worst customer service in the industry. Just Google eCost and you'll find scores of frustrated and angry former customers. If everything is fine with your order - nothing breaks - everything is there - you don't change your mind - then great. If you have any problem, you are out of luck. Try NewEgg or JR - it's worth the few extra bucks.
