HP iPAQ Glisten reaches AT&T with AMOLED screen

iPAQ Glisten mixes Win Mo 6.5, OLED

AT&T returned to carrying HP smartphones today through the iPAQ Glisten (link active soon). In addition to being HP's first Windows Mobile 6.5 device, it's also the first smartphone for AT&T and HP to include a relatively color rich AMOLED touchscreen. Similarly, it's one of the few anywhere to combine this with a fixed QWERTY keyboard and should be one of the most advanced candybar-design phones in the field.

Outside of these, the Glisten has a modern smartphone's feature set with a 3.1-megapixel camera, GPS and Wi-Fi. HP's most unique alterations are a preloaded voice command app for hands-free use and a photo upload app to send images to Snapfish.

The new iPAQ has an undetermined release in the "coming weeks" but is known to cost $180 after both signing a two-year contract and a $50 rebate. When it ships, it will be available both through AT&T's usual channels as well as from HP itself.
