updated 06:30 pm EST, Tue November 24, 2009

Downloads offer stability improvements, bug fixes

Apple on Tuesday released maintenance updates for iPhoto and Final Cut Server. iPhoto 8.1.1 addresses several issues involving poor performance and accuracy of the facial recognition feature. Users that imported photos of people with iPhoto 8.1 should choose the Detect Missing Faces option to correctly match the faces. The update also fixes a bug with book ordering, along with iPod touch support.

Final Cut Server 1.5.1 addresses compatibility issues and improves overall stability. Bug fixes include processing speed during the check-in and check-out process, the status display in the Downloads & Uploads window, locked assets, archiving for bundle assets, and adding or removing archive devices.

iPhoto 8.1.1 requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 or higher and can be downloaded from Apple's Support page or via Software Update. Final Cut Server 1.5.1 requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or 10.5.8 and higher, with the download available from the Support page after entering an Apple ID. [iPhoto Download - 12MB]
