Apple TV update fixes hidden content
Apple in a rare weekend update released Apple TV 3.0.1. The firmware upgrade, accompanied by a support document, mends a flaw which made music, video and other content from "disappearing" until the Apple TV next syncs with its host iTunes computer. The company urges customers to apply the update "immediately" and suggests rebooting the Apple TV followed by checking for an update in the Settings menu.

It is a software update NOT a firmware update, don't you know the difference?

I always think it's funny too when Apple has to say "reboot your Apple TV" and then add ... "by pulling the power cord out and sticking it back in." :-)
Because AppleTV "don't need no stinkin' power switch!"
Seriously, the next model should at least have a reset button.

Hardware Update Please

I love my Apple TV BUT pleaseeeeeeee apple give us a hardware update that does the Apple TV system justice. If they just gave it the attention and wow factor they do with other products they would hit a home run with Apple TV.
I have tried other network media type solutions and nothing comes close to it's simplicty and ease (I dont count a fully blown computer , keyboard and mouse in the lounge room) I am talking about a mass market idiot friendly media box.

the future

The future is digital downloads and that may include expiring files being deleted. That is the beauty of DRM and the network, the check to see if the user is authorized can also be used to check the movie is only valid for a certain time period.
