CrushFTP adds support for SSH port forwarding, MD5 passwords

updated 01:45 pm EDT, Fri October 30, 2009

User management functionality expanded

CrushFTP has released an update to its self-titled FTP software. Version 5.0.3 offers improved user-management functionality and options for consolidating multiple Virtual File Systems. SSH port forwarding has been added, along with support for additional FTP servers when acting as a FTP Proxy/Protocol Translator.

The user manager can now be used to perform live filtering on settings, or run batch updates for everyone on the list. The software also now supports VFS linking, MD5 hashed passwords and mini FLV previews.

The developer has also released an update to CrushSync, a companion utility for CrushFTP. Version 1.4 improves support for CrushFTP servers, enabling faster transfers and syncing, while MD5 checksums help verify data. The software also allows files to be encrypted on the remote server.

CrushFTP 5 is available directly from the company, with a 10-user license priced at $40. A 50-user license can be purchased for $70, while an unlimited license is available for $100. CrushSync can be added for $20 per license, with quantity discounts available for large configurations.
