10.2-inch QOOQ tablet PC helps you cook

The newly unveiled QOOQ is a 10.2-inch tablet PC meant to reside permanently in a family kitchen and provide users with countless recipes and other kitchen help and hints. The French device contains preparation videos, ingredient information and a cooking magazine. It can also connect to the web via an Ethernet port or Wi-Fi connection, though there is no traditional web browser functionality; instead, it uses the online link to update recipes, listen to Internet radio or check weather.

Users can also subscribe to monthly newsletter with original meal ideas, and there is a shopping list maker and a meal planner. The QOOQ is cable-free, with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery providing power when in the kitchen. A touchscreen has a virtual keyboard, and the QOOQ can either lie down flat or be propped up by a built-in stand. There are USB and SD memory card ports that help it both transfer content and double as a digital photo frame.

The QOOQ costs the equivalent of $516 in Europe, which includes 500 recipes, while a monthly subscription with regular recipe updates costs $19. [via RedFerret]
