Google music service to merge samples, downloads

Google Audio would include iLike, Lala

Google's rumored Audio music service will be less controversial than rumored at first based on two follow-up leaks. Multiple contacts tell Reuters that it will automatically provide players for MySpace-owned iLike or Lala when users search for songs on Google and provide at least the option of playing a sample or else buying the MP3. EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner are all believed to have linked their music to the service.

If accurate, it would launch October 28th.

A second tip for TechCrunch clarifies the deal and shows that the searches will be intelligent, showing tracklistings for whole albums when a Google visitor searches for an artist or an album. The choice of iLike or Lala will be up to the user as long as both have access to that title.

Google hasn't commented on the introduction.

Separately, the New York Times also says that Facebook will add the option of buying from Lala through its gift store normally used for icons.

    Another Android like failure!

Google really need to stick to Search Engines!

What does this have to do with Android? Not to mention how can you tell it will be a failure from the limited information available? I think you really need to stick to not expressing your opinion.
