Could arrive in Photoshop CS5
Adobe is experimenting with several new technologies which could appear in Photoshop CS5, a new video suggests. Among these is the concept of "wet" paint, which can be smeared across a surface like its real-world counterpart. The paint dries and tapers off after a certain distance, and can also be blended with other paint in order to create new colors.
New brush tools may more precisely simulate real brushes, such as ones with straight, pointed or fanned bristles. The video lastly demonstrates a warping technology similar to After Effects' Puppet tool, allowing 2D images to be manipulated as if they are 3D objects. Control points can be added to lock or manipulate portions of an image, such as joints on a body or areas in an image which need perspective correction.
Photoshop CS5 is generally expected to be released in the second quarter of next year, possibly around mid-April; however, no official release date exists.

i think they should fix the old technologies first, before moving onto the new ones....

I'll REALLY disapprove.
Puns aside, I truly think some media in art should remain substantive.

you take a picture of something, then turn it into a painting.. umm, why not just paint the damn thing from the picture?
I will say the warp technology is pretty damn cool!

Gee I swear I have seen this before... maybe 15 years ago in Fractal Design Painter!
Nothing like copying technology from over a decade ago and calling it an ultra cool new feature.

Wow, new technology from Adobe? That's unprecedented (at least in the past 10 years) ...
I think they need to do house cleaning much more urgently, than new features. Adobe needs a release like Snow Leopard .... lots of under-the-hood upgrades, and a small upgrade fee. They owe that to their users.
Of course, the company that needs that the most, is Microsoft, but they're a lost cause. Let's hope Adobe doesn't end up there (though they're very close).

New features, especially those shown, are not remotely as important as fixing various known bugs and enhancing the overall speed in Mac OS X. THEN, our team will give CS5 consideration for upgrading.
