Ver8.0 optimizes memory, improves ER modeler

AquaFold has launched a major upgrade to its database administration software, releasing Aqua Data Studio 8.0. The software is geared toward visualizing and working with multiple relational databases in a single view. Aqua Data Studio already supports Oracle, DB2 for iSeries, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Sybase, Informix, apache Derby and PostgreSQL. Version 8.0 adds native support for new databases including Teradata, DB2 for z/OS, Sybase IQ 15 and nCluster.

The update also provides an improved entity-relationship modeler, with the ability to convert or translate ER models between databases types. New memory optimizations in v8.0 allow for improved performance, especially when querying result sets in large quantities of numeric data. Support for Subversion 1.6 is also included in the update.

Aqua Data studio 8.0 requires Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, Java 1.6 or later and a Core 2 Duo or Xeon processor. Single-user subscriptions are $400, with volume licensing also available.
