Logitech outs gaming keyboard with LED backlight, macros

updated 10:15 am EDT, Thu October 15, 2009

Logitech gaming keyboard has custom LED backlight

Logitech launched its latest gaming keyboard on Thursday, the Gaming Keyboard G110. The device has custom LED backlighting for all of its keys, and users can connect USB headsets or microphones through ports on the back for both. The LEDs illuminating the keys can be set to all-blue or all-red as well as mixed to create any shade of purple.

Most importantly to gamers are 12 programmable shortcut keys (known as G-keys) and three macro keys (M-keys). Multiple profiles can be saved, which are loaded automatically when the corresponding game is loaded. Users can also lock out the Windows shortcut keys so that they don't accidentally interrupt their gameplay.

The G110 connects to both Macs and Windows PCs. The Logitech Gaming Keyboard G110 is available now for $80.

    Wow!

That's a fine-looking keyboard. I've got an older Apple keyboard with some hanging keys and I do like Logitech products. Hmmm.

    connects but...

Yes, the keyboard will connect to a Mac but it has a Windows keymapping not to mention the evil logo. Doesn't Apple have a sufficient share to warrant a dedicated keyboard, Mr. Logitech? I too dumped my not-so-mighty-mouse for a better Logitech device!

OMG! It has a windows logo on the keyboard! Then it can't be used. Such a thing would be an abomination.

And just use the freakin Keyboard control panel to reassociate the keys.

No, they don't. Even if it were 50% I doubt they would. The extra cost for materials, boxes, etc, far outweighs the few who would care.
