Keyboard-free Nokia N900 sequel shows up

updated 04:35 pm EDT, Thu October 15, 2009

Keyboard-free Nokia N920 leaked in photos

What appears to be a keyboard-free version of Nokia's as-yet-unreleased N900 smartphone has been spotted on the Internet recently. While the image is not official, it reveals the handset will have a larger, 4.13-inch capacitive touchscreen display and no hardware keyboard. The N900, in comparison, uses a 3.5-inch resistive (pressure-based) touchscreen with 800x480 resolution.

No other details of the device are known, but most features are expected to carry over from the N900, including a 600MHz ARM Cortex-A8 CPU, a GPS sensor and Wi-Fi module. The same 256MB of RAM, HSPA network support and a 5-megapixel camera should also make the trip. Built-in memory of 32GB is also expected, with a microSDHC slot letting them add another 16GB.

It is expected some official word from Nokia will come around the beginning of the year, perhaps at Mobile World Congress in February. [via UnwiredView]
